(Many thanks to those of you who have already responded)2) We publish our approved annual accounts at the AGM, for scrutiny. Under Rule 54 of the Society’s Constitution we are exempt from having to appoint a qualified auditor if income and/or expenditure criteria for requiring this are not met. However, shareholders are required to vote to apply the audit exemption. We are not legally bound to audit our accounts, but our new governing documents as a Community Benefit Society** requires us to put a resolution to our members to decide if DCB wants an audit. Please indicate by reply email if you support the motion to apply the audit exemption, i.e., NOT to appoint a qualified auditor**DCB started 10 years ago as an Industrial and Provident Society. The UK Government introduced the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, and Industrial and Provident Societies were all converted to Community Benefit Societies.More exciting news…. DCB are currently looking in to starting apprentices – find out more at the AGM.Interested in new product lines? Find out more at the AGM!
